I have been on LHCF for about 1 1/2 years, and I think I am just now starting to see growth. I have learned a lot (mostly by trial and many errors), and hope to see substantial growth in 2008 now that I have a solid regimen in place.

Formerly, I was SO concerned about overall length. I kinda think that will take care of itself since healthy hair will grow. My main focus will be my edges which are still practically bald. It's kinda embarrassing to have this beautiful hair and non existent edges, but I am determined to get those grown out.

Some things that I have learned in 2007 are... baggying and bunning is not the end-all be all. I have actually stopped bunning (unless I REALLY don't feel like roller setting) and so far, so good. Lot less breakage.

I am just a "shedder". Low manipulation, no manipulation, protein, moisture, whatever...It still flies all over the place. I have just resolved to sweep after every styling session. My hair still seems to be growing.

My final goal for 2008...NO MORE SEE THROUGH EDGES!!! I would also like to reach a good solid SL by the end of the year.

What about others?

My 2008 Goals:
  • Maintain health hair
  • Reach MBL by March (Easter) and get a blunt cut for thicker ends
  • Reach WSL

In 2008:

Continue

-to use JBCO and EVOO to bring the thickness back to my hair, especially when oil rinsing..makes my hair soft and thick.

-my vitamin regimen (futurebiotics hair, skin and nails), I have been very consistent from when I began in late October, except for the one or two forgetful/busy days.

- to incorporate seaweed into one of my meals daily or every other day, I just make it my staple vegetable.

-using Organic products for my hair such as J/A/S/O/N shampoos and conditioners.

-drinking 100z water daily.

Will Introduce:

-Coconut oil to my regimen after the new year

-Ayurvedic hair care into my regimen

Overall goal: getting to Brastrap (or very close by sept 08)

Goals:
Additional length (always, always, ain' that the thing?)
Fuller edges (slowly but surely, I'm getting there)
The perfect leave-in (Afro Detangler, I'm coming for you!)

I think that should be enough to occupy my year.

For 2008, I just want thick ends. NO MORE SEE THRU ENDS!! I just dont want to feel ashamed to wear my hair down anymore.:ohwell:

Then in 2009 I'll focus on length.

These are basically my goals:

1) I want to focus on gaining length.

2) Learning to style my own natural hair. I am a slave to the salon.

Pass BSL by March
Wash every 3 days , deep condition w/heat - only dominican products.

MBL by Sept 08 (crosses fingers)
Implement
ShenMen(sp) Vitamens
Increase daily water intake

Ultimate and final goal for 2008 - Full head of healthy hair (no matter the length)

Maintain healthy thick hair
Continue Deep Conditioning w/every shampoo
Continue Bunning & Moisturizing
Reach BSL by 5/08
Reach MBL by 12/08

My goal is to:

-Reach full APL by summer of 08'
-And to have healthy thick hair
-And to not depend on weaves (I'm so addicted!):yep:

Healthier, fuller and thicker hair, edges, and nape:yep:
APL by April/May/June 08:yep:
Find my staple products(hoping it's Dominican or organic/indian products)
Consistent regimine
Try doing rollersets, bantu knots, and braidouts/twistouts:yep:

Maintain my hair's health
more growth retention
thicken up edges
grow out/baby my nape more
be satisfied with the products I have that work!!!

My goals for 2008:

continue on my path of going natural
continue with getting sewns and takin care of my
hair underneath the sewns
take breaks between sewns to do cowashing/protein
conditioners/Deep conditioners.

My goals for 2008:

- Establish and stick to a routine that makes my hair thrive
- Consistently take my vitamins
- Continue moisturizing and sealing my ends
- If I do the above, I hope to reach full BSL by 2/08 and have the rest of my hair catch up to the longest layers of my hair (which are already at about BSL)

ETA: Oh! And to test out henna and ayurvedic products!

Hopefully in 2008

1) My hair continues to gain thickness

2) My nape and sides continue to catch up with the rest of my head

3) It would be nice to be @ shoulder length

- To get as much growth in as I can so that I can get back to the length I just was, before I chopped it off again.
- Maintain healthy hair...no more color!!!
- Curb my PJ-ism

  • Protective styling and hide hair until .....APL and then BSL
  • Continue Vitamins and MN daily
  • Con Wash and Deep condition every 3 days
  • Use up all of my products (I keep buying more:yep:)

My goals for the 2008 year are:

*To reach bra strap length by next year at Christmas
*To maintain the thickness of my hair

  • Obtain and maintain healthy ends
  • Make MBL or WL
  • Thicken up my hair
  • Change my diet (not just for my hair, but for overall health)
  • Relax less (maybe 3-4 times a year)
  • Grow my nape

Do whatever it takes to reach APL or beyond
Keep my hair healthy as possible
Stay low on manipulation

-Thicker ends: I plan to trim after each touch up until my ends are the thickness I desire. My hair is layered so it's going to take a while.
-Get to BSL before the end of the year
-Rollerset more often

Continue to grow out areas of breakage (front and some in the crown)
Reach Shoulder Length by April, 2008
Reach Bra Strap Length by end of year
Consistent Vitamin Regimen
Increase water intake to 120 oz. daily
More rollersets
Find/create stylish protective styles
Thicken hair
Reduce breakage
Perfect Regimen and stick to it

I don't know what I am going to do but i am going to certainly make a change. I am going to rethink somethings I been doing and really up my game.

For 2008, I just want thick ends. NO MORE SEE THRU ENDS!! I just dont want to feel ashamed to wear my hair down anymore.:ohwell:

same here, the most important thing for me is to have healthy hair and healthy ends, this year I was focused on length, my hair grew but I'm very disappointed because I prefer healthy ends before. (and I was ashamed to show my progress because of my thin ends)

I will baggy my ends everynight (the whole year), because I used to baggy it but because of laziness I didn't baggy it for months now, and it was a very good thing for my ends, now I can see how myhair loved it.

  • Learn how to do my own rollersets and rolling my hair everynight
  • Continue to shampoo and deep condition weekly
  • Change my diet for maximum health and hair growth
  • Stretch my relaxers for at least 13 weeks
  • Shoulder length by August 2008
  • Only use hooded dryers

In general,

I would really like to identify my hair staples and find a GREAT moisturizer for my fine strands.

I would like to avoid going to the hair salon for one more year AND lastly,
I would like to have achieve BSL, stretched the July/August.

I don't know my growth rate yet so I don't know if I'm being too ambitious or playing it too safe. I've been nursing my hair since the begining of 2007 but did not take any pictures to confirm what it's doing back there.

Oh, and I'd like to track my progress via photos.

I really want to hit waist length in 2008, but my hair is really thinning out on the ends so my goal for 08 is to get my hair thickness back even if I end up with brastrap or midback hair. I'll keep dusting away and see if it helps.
