Her daddy needs his arse whooped! Ain't nothing funny about that poor child's scalp burning and he shouldn't be recording it.

Can't perm again for another 4-5 weeks:eek2:

And who is that clown laughing in the background?

If you're going to relax someone's hair at least learn how to do it right.:nono:

Heckz no, that's not right.

The mom should've just rinsed it out and whoever is recording needs to stop - it's not funny.

That ***** is crazy. She and the camera man need they a$$ whopped. I bet they gon laugh at her if her hair fall out after all that mess.

This goes back to my old saying

SOME people DON'T need to procreate and the minute that child discover LHCF they are going to clown her even more

Why do these people put this online? I mean they could look on youtube on the same site and see many things they could do for their child's hair

That is her daddy! :nono:

What???? Y'all sure? SMH

eta: Reminds me of the scene in Malcolm X in which he got his hair conked. Those brothers in the barber shop were cracking up, too. Of course he wasn't a child and they weren't his father.

Clearly these people don't realize that they're dealing with TOXIC, DANGEROUS chemicals! There was nothing to be laughing about! If that child was truly in that much pain, then that most likely means that the relaxer was eating into her scalp!

All of that just to have straight hair. :ohwell: I'll never put my daughter through that! :nono:

Why is the water on in the first place if she shouldn't use it? I guess what I am wondering is why is the application being done under the sink?

How many of us did this in ignorance? LHCF educated us. It is sad, but it is very common. This is an old video you posted.

And a dirty sink at that!! The whole procedure was half arzzed..Relaxed, natural, pressed..some people really dont need to be doing other peoples hair

I hope and pray that it is not common to rub relaxer into your child's scalp while they scream and cry out in pain. Any mother with an ounce of sense would know that's a bad idea. You don't need LHCF to figure that one out :ohwell:

I think DD was talking moreso about letting the perm sit for awhile and smoothing it in while its burning. I've had my perms rubbed in like that when I was younger, not necessarily to the scalp but the same smoothing technique. I def remember those relaxer days of squirming in my chair from the burn and having somebody smooth it in.

I think those people (I'm not sure she was a child, I guess I was expecting a 10 year old or something) have the same belief that a lot of women have. Namely that a little burning is okay bc the more the relaxer is "taking." My guess is a lot of people still relax this way, of course none of us enlightened women would ever do that.

I agree, some people do relax THEIR OWN hair this way, but, as I stated previously - I hope it's not common to do this to a kid. She may not have been 10, but she was not an adult.

Ignorance is bliss...I think SOME people really don't know any better and think that is the proper smoothing technique. I can't speak on the whether it is common, but I definitely know that experience very well from the hands stylists and my mother. So unfortunately I do not think I'm the only one to know how painful relaxer burns can be...Like I said...ignorance.

this old video, her brother was taping this and laughing at his sister. and the mother is an idiot. there was a thread about this way back when and i asked what does the mother's hair look like underneath that scarf.

I saw this on FB. I'm shocked how serious folks in here are taking this. As a former relaxed head myself, I know EXACTLY what she's goin thru and I laughed EXTRA hard when her brother (that's who I think that was) started laughin at her. Even her mom couldn't help but laugh.

"Take it like a woman!" LOL! Sounds like something my mom would say.

^^^ I'm glad someone found this amusing

Relaxer day was never like this in my house. We went to the sink the minute I told her it burned

I think this is way of relaxing is fairly common, even in beauty shops. "if it ain't burnin it ain't workin"

:nono: @ "take it like a woman", no wonder so many girls grow up thinking that getting hurt physically and psychologically by the people that are supposed to love them is a right of passage.

It is sick to laugh at someone else's pain.

Crackers Phinn Ma'am, that's reaching a bit. Enduring scalp burns leads to accepting domestic abuse now?! "C'mon, son!" We laugh at people's pain all the time, it's called America's Funniest Home Videos.

Not directed to anyone in particular:

Lawd, I haven't been reading posts on LHCF in a while, excuse me if I don't view these kind of things thru the "vacuum" we call a healthy hair care forum. Give me a little bit, I'll be back to my overly-concerned-with-other-people's-choices ways real soon. :yep:

What degree of burn do you have to inflict on your child for it to count?

"C'mon, son!" We laugh at people's pain all the time, it's called America's Funniest Home Videos.

Schadenfreude does not become a virtue because a tv show allows folks to indulge their most base nature.

When I got my hair relaxed I never had my sister or beautician telling me to "take it like a woman" and endure that burning. Once my head was on fire it was straight to the sink.

Scabs on your scalp are no joke.

Lol, leave it to LHCF reach above and beyond. From enduring scalp burns to enduring abusive relationships. Take it like a woman!
