Hello all,
I recently found this site and I'm still wishing I had found this years ago. It's fantastic!
Well I am new here (still trying to learn all the acronyms!) and desperately want to grow my hair and would appreciate all the advice I can get on this journey!
I've always thought I had terrible, fine, flimsy hair that did not grow. I relaxed my hair from the ages of 12 to 24 and it gradually broke away until I looked like I had fur on my head rather then hair. For the following 2 years I wore hairweaves to give my hair the rest it needed from chemical processing but I didn't have a clue what to do to encourage growth and health. As of 3 months ago I stopped wearing weaves (my hairline was starting to disappear) and am caring for it naturally, going for the occasional steam.
So this is where the hair journey starts for me! I have attached the only picture I have of my hair blowdried straight. The sides always remain much shorter then the back and I seem to have more then one hair type, with the crown producing coarser curls and then tapering out to fine wavy hair. The sides are very fine and wavy. However my the back right hand side is still quite straight, even after 2.5 years without a relaxer and various cuts. The left hand side is much coarser and does not take being blowdried easily. I'm guessing my hair is 4a/4b but not sure.
Would appreciate any advice or tips but most of all will continue to enjoy the site!
