I did a trim last night 1/2-3/4". I feel ashamed to say that even though the were raggedy looking, I hated to cut them off. I feel like whenever I'm making progress I have to whip out the scissors! I also haven't had a trim/dust since maybe August. My hair does look better. Anyone else feel this way? I promise you will not get stoned!:lachen:

I'm happy to say my ends look great. I believe in trimming. Maybe a little to much. :look: BUT I LOVE GREAT LOOKING ENDS.

I've been braided up for a while. I took down part of my hair and can stretch to about APL. Not looking forward to the inevitable trim

since the 2 yrs i've been here...no matter what i do, my ends are always splitting. i feel like i will never make it past shoulder if i don't find a resolution. i'm tired of always starting over.

I felt that way when I got a trim recently. But my ends were looking EXTRA raggedy and I hadn't trimmed them since February...So it had to be done! I'm more concerned about it now than ever because I've never had my hair this short before. So when I see scissors I feel sick

My ends are always see through and/or stringy. But I must admit that this past year I haven't done a great job of protecting and nourishing them day and night.:ohwell:

^^I know what you mean. I'm the closest I've ever been to APL and had to get my trim on. I think I even cut that raggedy tail I get. I guess I need to stay on top of it so they don't get out of hand.

My ends look and feel good. I roller set and flat ironed my hair this past Sunday, and it looks the same as my siggy pic.

I used to trim my ends all the time because they would look scorched. BKT fixed that for me. My ends actually look healthy now.

I just had a dusting two weeks ago, at which time, my stylist said that my ends were in good shape. Then, why is it that since my wash/dc/rollerset (no flat iron) Saturday, I find broken ends and a lot of shedding? I don't understand! I look through my hair and see very few splits (not even a 1/4 of an inch and not even 5 in my whole head), I look at shed hair and see no splits, so where are these broken pieces coming from? UGH!:wallbash:
ETA: I do the search and destroy method on the regular, but rarely find anything to cut:perplexed

One side of my head is wispy and see through. But no splits. I'm transitioning, so I will be cutting all this mess off anyway.

My ends are jacked last trim was April and i refuse to cut them until i get another telax which would be sometime at the end of next year. I am planning on weaving this sucker up after christmas for the Challenge

I NEED a trim. Lord knows I do. I haven't had one since February but the sight of scissors near my head make me nauseous....especially since I don't trust hairdressers to give me a trim.

My ends could Use a good dusting.... I havent trimmed since sept and I do see splits but my hair overall is pretty thick and healthy, No scragglynees

The truth? I need a serious trim followed by a no heat for a year or so experiment which I suspect would prove my hair is opposed to heat styling.

IRL? I'll keep dusting periodically and see how long I can go without using heat.

I love my ends now. I got my first trim 2 months ago and it was my first one ever. I love my ends!!!!

My ends are full of single strand knots. It's especially frustrating because my lowest layer is a slightly different texture. It knots less and it retains length better. So I keep cutting it to try to get the rest of my hair to catch up, but it's really the rest of my hair that needs the most cutting because of the ssks. Very frustrating.

Since September 2009 my hair has been in protective styles. When my stylist does my hair it is now December and she has not had to trim my ends period. They look good.

I don't like trimming, so I always end up waiting until my ends are bad leading to more being cut.

I really need to stick to a trimming routine.

I found a small number of short splits in my hair and will be dusting next month.

It's impossible to be 100% free of split ends, so I won't be hard on myself. My hair is very healthy even with the occasional split.

I trimmed my ends themselves cause they tapered too much and were split. I did a bad job at it though even though I cut alot. Now I have to go to a professional to get it down and I'm thinking of doing a BC type of deal so I can start from scratch. As long as I won't be above SL I think I'll be happy.

I hope.

I am afraid to look at my ends, I am going to flat iron later today, first time in 4 months
I am scared at what I will find

I have been trimming when I box braid my hair but I don't think it's enough. A few days ago I posted that my splits where looking better, but then I went on a seek and destroy mission and discovered I may have to cut and inch and half off. Which suck because I don't think I get even a half inch of growth per month so this sucks

But as someone pointed out, what's the point in growing unhealthy long hair
so a trimming I will go!

I haven't had a trim since FEB. My ends are uneven and thin from over-processing. My V can reach APL and so now that I know it's possible, I am mentally stable enough to dust some of these ends off. I guess I just had to prove to myself that I could get to APL first.

My ends are in excellent condition and thats due minimal heat and lots of air drying and also deep conditioning and protein as needed.

Is it possible for 1 day your ends to look split and the next day they don't? My stylist says they look fine, but occasionally to me they look jacked or I could just be going through my hair paranoia.

They are okay, thinner than I like but I will try to grow a lot so I will be okay to cut by my next relaxer. I rather have healthy hair then raggy ends.
