Hair:
To FINALLY find MY holy grail! I want a healthy routine of products and maintenance that will get me bsl, strong, jet-black and healthy tresses by the end of 2007!

Skin:
To pay more attention to my skin. My routine is pretty good, but I need to be more consistent with the peels and facials.

Body:
I have been power walking five miles, five days a week for a couple of months now. All I need to do is stay with this program and get eight hours of sleep EVERY night!

Health:
I eat pretty well during the work week, but on my weekends, I need to stay focused! I have done well on my supplements as of late (especially since I make my own hair vitamins!;) ) and I need to keep that consistent.

Here are my goals, basically a life overhaul on a budget:

Hair: More protective styles, getting slip without 'cones, and one trim.

Face: Clear up and keep away acne, even skin tone, and find a moisturizer.

Teeth: Get that crown and whitening them before that.

Body: Exercise, new clothes, and dry brushing.

Health: Lose 80 lbs:( , keep up with suppliments, and improve diet.

Spirit: Daily biblical study, finding a church, and following my priorities everyday.

Mind: Vacations and get back into swing trading.

Money: Get back into giving 10%, saving 12-14%, spending 10%.

Family: More visits, make learning responsibility more entertaining and practical, and date nights.

I will keep the vanity stuff in my hair journal; the other stuff semi-private.

Hair: I want to complete my transition to long healthy natural hair and get it the best shape possible by doing weekly deep conditioning treatments (been slacking on this) and baggying at night and wearing protective styles. I will continue to take my hair vitamins.

Health: I will exercise 4-5 days a week, drink plenty of water and take my muli-vitamins daily. I will get a yearly check-up to keep my health in check. I will also make it a point to eat more fruits and veggies....something I don't always do. I will keep my BMI (body mass index) between 18.5 and 24.9.....I'm 23.6 now which is normal, but too close for comfort ;) . I plan to lose about 10 pounds to put me at 125lbs and stay there. :)

Body/Skin: I will remember to exfoliate my skin head to toe at least once a week. Also keep my twice a year tooth cleaning appts.....I plan to get invisalign at the beginning of the year to get rid of this small gap (that no one notices but me :( ) and get my teeth whitened. I will get back on my regimen of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing my face am and pm- and wearing sunscreen.

OOOOOOOOOOH! ME ME ME!!!! :bouncegre I love this challenge. I'd like to join pretty please!! I have a significant amount of weight to lose and I'd like to do better with my beauty routine (things other than my hair) I'm all about this...great idea!!! Give me a minute to work out my goals/reggies and I'll post them up.

Count me in!

Hair:
I want APL Natural hair (when stretched) by Dec. 2007. I will cut the remaining relaxed ends off by Spring 2007.

Skin:
I want my skin to be blemish-free and clear. I use Proactiv when needed and will continue to do that.

Spiritual:
I will continue to build my relationship with God, as well as have faith and pray. I will also continue to pray with and for my BF and mom.

Health:
I will continue taking my supplements and be consistent with my workouts. I want to also make healthier choices when it comes to food.

My body:
I will lose weight. I am on Weight watchers and want to lose all of my weight in 2007 the healthy way. 3 workouts a week at LA Fitness, minimum. This starts now. It can be an aerobics class, elliptical, treadmill, as long as it's consistent. Eating the right foods and cutting back on junk. I am keeping a private (for now) weight loss blog that I will eventually share.

Education: I will begin studying for the mCAT in January and register for the April exam. I can do this! Apply and get into medical school.

Financial: I opened my 401(K) earlier this year and I'm contributing 4% of my salary. Starting the first paycheck of 2007, I am upping my contribution and also taking $100 (or more) from each paycheck to build up my Savings account.

My Life
I will worry less and live more. I will plan more and love harder. Travel more and see the world with my family and BF. Become a stronger woman.

MY GOALS


Hair:
I will have past APL stretched by 12/07

Body:
I want J-Lo's body!!! She has the hottest body to me (no not gay, just really admire her body). However, a more realistic and obtainable goal would be for me to lose about 20lbs and to tone up.

Skin:
I'm pretty satisfied with my skin but I want to work on maintenance and age prevention. Oh yeah, I don't wear my sunscreen everyday like I should (don't stone me) so this in itself should be a goal.

Spiritual:

I have totally been slacking in this area and really need to start studying and attending church.

Health:
I will eat more whole foods, cut back on the processed junk and actually learn how to cook. I also will increase my water intake and take my supplements EVERYDAY. I will also begin an exercise routine and stick to it. Additionally, I will learn how to de-stress, I will relax and I will pamper myself

Education:
I will make use of my library card, borrow books and actually read them. I will apply to grad school (once I figure out what I want to master in).

Whew...that's it!

Why start now?
To set up routines and habits in advance; it take about a month to establish new habits. This way, the participants have time to find what works for them.

Accountability options
--Pictures: You do not need a digital camera to get pictures on the internet. Any disposable camera developed at a place that uploads pics for free will work. Some Wal-Marts have this option, or you can mail it to a site like Snapfish (if you decide to use Snapfish, please use [email protected] as your referral so I can get free stuff—hey, I admit I am opportunistic). Yahoo and Fotki have options for both albums and journals. Check with your ISP and see if they have free storage space.

--Journal: Writing out action plans, rereading them, and recording accomplishment/failures helps in achieving goals. This can be a regular, hand-written one, a blog, MySpace, LiveJournal, etc. I have an LJ account—PM me if you want me to add you to my f-list.

--Partnerships: More can be achieved when one works alongside others—basically, someone(s) to lift us up when down, pats on the back, or a good kick in the tail (especially during the winter months). If you need help finding one, PM me.

--PMs and IMs: I have all four IM programs and you can get Trillian, so you can IM others with different programs.

--Checking in: Monthly check-ins are the only required accountability, or you will get a PM from me after five or six weeks if you stop posting in the forums. Let us know you are going to disappear, heading off the formation of a search posse. :) If you accomplish all of your goals early, please stick around to inspire the rest of us.

Hair...this is a challenge in itself. I guess I need to work on being consistent with EVERYTHING!!!
Skin...I need to try and do a lactic acid or chemical peel to rid my face of some of the newer problems. I need a routine that is simple and effective at the same time!
Health..I really need to start eating better. I am a fast food junkie. My body does not react to eating unhealthy like it did when I was in my twenties :(! I need to start drinking more water and let the Mtn Dews go :perplexed.
Body...I need to get my butt up and start exercising. I do not need to lose weight for real, but I REALLY need to tone up everything from the neck down.
Spiritual...I need to learn to appreciate everything that I have been blessed with. I know without Him, I would be NOTHING. I just need to start acting that way on a daily basis!!!
Financial...I need to start saving more money!!! I am going to give this autosurfing thing 100%! I can only save money when I make it!!

I want to join, too.

Hair: I want my hair in the front to be able to stretch pass my chin. I want to wear more protective styles, get max growth, and master different styles on my own. Grow my edges out.

Skin: I want to get rid of blemishes and those monthly outbreaks.

Spiritual: I want to really start meditating and enjoy God's presence.

Body: I want to lose at least 60 lbs. Eat healthier and to drink more water.

Education: Hopefully, I will finish my MS in the Spring and start working pn my PhD in the Fall.

Find my product staples, achive waistlength by june/july 2007 and maintain length and thickness.

Skin:
I'd like my skin to be even tone and healthier looking, I will be investing in Alpha hydroxy cremes, natural butters, facial cleansers and i'll be using my facial sauna regularly.

Health/Body: I FEEL VERY ASHAMED AT HAVING TO POST THIS, I NEED A LOT OF SUPPORT FROM YOU LADIES
I'm in bad health: obese, depression/anxiety, insomnia, asthma, womb problems, blood pressure, possibly borderline diabetic. I plan to change my diet around by quiting all junk food and sugary drinks. I plan to juice fruit and vege, take daily walks, taebo excersises, drinking water, remain on low glycemic foods.

CAREER: To return into work and pursue my journalism career and begin my MA.

Hair: Find a routine that works for me. Reach goal of BSL by end of 2007. Keep working towards healthy MBL. LHCF Boot Camp 2007!!!

Skin: This is an area in need of improvement! I have to get in the habit of cleansing my skin 2x a day, not just in the morning! Continue using natural scrubs like brown sugar and olive oil 3x week. Exfoliate the rest of my body for better skin as well. Get pretty feet!!!

Health/Body: Cardio workout with TaeBo 3x week and strength straining on my TotalGym daily. Lose 25-30 pounds and tone everything up. Continue to cut-out fast food and plan healthy meals at home.

Spiritual: Get deeper into my prayer life and learn to incorporate the power of fasting in my spiritual life. Become more involved in activities at church.

Career: Launch my business part-time by March 2007, while continuing to advance at my j.o.b. Aggressively pursue zero debt!

MY HAIR:
I recently BC'ed in August after a lengthy transition for about a year and some change. I'm aiming to be at Bra Strap unstretched by the end of 07'' realistically although my maximum goal by the end of 07' is Armpit fully defined, very full, semi-fro (:lol: i love big hair!). I've been using mostly Dr. Miracles, Surge, Sulfur 6 spray, oyin, and burt's bees and been trying to wash every two days to allow the growth products to sink in. Also to buy all the products i've ever wanted to try out.

MY BODY:
I'm really trying to lose weight still. Its been a bit of an uphill battle but i'm attempting to get it together as much as possible now since i've just had my 21st birthday... I figure its good to start it out with a new goal. I'm aiming for another 50 pounds, and to get a leaner body.... by restricting calories, taking supplements, upping water, and working out whenever possible.

MY CAREER & FINANCES:
I'm hoping to make some way with my school loans, enrolling back into a school (at least part-time) to work on a bachelors, have a stable job, or at least opening up my own business (i've already got the business plan fully laid out so i'm optimistic of one of them transpiring. Also, to buy a laptop and IPOD and be able to maintain a comfortable existence in my OWN apartment.

MY LOVELIFE:
I'm looking to cut the dead weight from my life, people, etc., and just focusing on myself and not on men who aren't willing to work with me or make me happy at all if it isn't advantageous to them.

PERSONAL:
To start writing my book, start working on getting my own car/license, get my style together and buy some nice clothes for myself, being as independent as possible, get a job at a magazine even if its in the mail room and work on my journalism career.

MY SKIN:
To lighten and even out my complexion, to get rid of that persistent acne, and to also fight signs of aging (and like another lady said, START USING SUNSCREEN!) lol!
 
I am so in, but I may need someone to nag me into staying on track.

HAIR:
I am just pass shoulder length now, so I am aiming for between APL and BS by end of year. Also, I want my thickness back. I lost a third of my hair due to shedding from anesthesia earlier this year, and now my hair is thin. so I'm just baggie-ing. I need to get some phony ponies, and start using my MTG.

SKIN:
My biggest skin problem is lack of consistency. When I do my regimen twice a day, my skin looks great! But then I take my skin for granted and get lazy, then BAM whiteheads.

HEALTH:
100 lbs. NEED to come off!!! WATER! WATER! WATER! Did I mention I NEED to drink more water? And vitamins, I need to start taking my vitamins.

BODY:
I need to start exercising more. I bought a cardioglide at a yard sale this weekend, so now I can exercise no matter what the weather is doing. 30 minutes a day, EVERY day of either walking or cardio-gliding!

Okay, I will definately need someone to nag me :lol:, any volunteers?

Clear even toned skin. Work on getting rid of my scars from acne.

Body
To lose 2 pounds every week in 2007. I need to lose 130 to be healthy. Walk and/or exercise everyday. If Ms. Janet Jackson can do it, so can I.

Health
Eat less carbs and more veggies and more protein. Take vitamin supplements everyday.

Mind
Stop being so disappointed in myself when I mess up. I need to start being my own best friend.

Relationships
Find and nurture friendships with some like-minded girlfriends. Start dating.

Career
Finish my graphic design classes and quit my present job. Find a job I will actually enjoy.

I know there are ways to get these things. I need to figure out how.

I'll use my journal to keep myself honest.
 
Please add me too!!! 2007 is the big "4" "0" for me, so what better way to kick it off than to be the best me ever. Here's what I would like to accomplish:

Hair
To be BSL by December 2007. I want my hair to be long, strong and soft to the touch.

Skin
I want even toned skin with smaller pores. I also want my body to be butter soft. I plan to do regular facials and body scrubs. I'm going to spoil myself rotten in this area - lol

Start taking my investments more seriously. I think it's been fear of failure that's only let me dabble in real estate and the stock market. I'm ready to take the bull by the horns and get busy with mine. (That's the Wall Street Bull that is :lol:).

Mind and Spirit
I stress too much about the little things. Time to let it all go. I want to be centered and focused. I want a mind like water. I'm every bit a Christian, but I would like to study Zen to learn how to become more in-tuned with myself and my spiritual mind.

Relationships
Stay connected with the few friends I have and try to make more. Be a better wife to my husband by not being just his wife, but his girl. I need to be more like I use to be when we first met. Be more playful.

Hair: I want shoulder length natural hair ( I am planning to BC on dec 30 if I don't chicken out), I also plan on doing protective styling for the whole year.

Skin: Get even toned skin I plan on doing a scrub every week and applying sunscreen every day.

Body: get below 115 lbs ( I am on my way)

school: Bring my average up! I have to do all of my homework and stop spending so much time on the computer.

spiritual: continue praying to God everyday and start reading the bible and find a church where I feel comfortable.

I'm totally up for this! This happened at the perfect time!

Hair: healthy shoulder length with successful self care and professional relaxers for now. Hair regimen plan: wash 2x per week (will be needed with exercise schedule) deep condition weekly and henna treatments every 1-2 months (will experiment and find the right combination.) protein treatments as needed. Will keep it simple for now. Will only complicate it as needed.

Skin: healthy acne free skin. Continuous regimen twice daily (not every few days).. regimen is still under construction. Plan to get monthy glycolic facials (may add microdermabrasions).

Spiritual: Mediatation daily at least 5-10 minutes daily. Find a church I like! Join that church!

Body: exercise 6 days a week alternate running or eliptical training for 1 hours with yoga every other day. Add other supplements as my resistance builds. Will continue to increase the intensity. Will loose 40 pounds! (Wow... thats right I said it!!!) How about I add by my b-day I want 20 pounds off (thats 6/14). These plays may be altered if insurance will pay for my breast reduction operation (boy do i need it)! Will update as needed.

Health: will eat 2 fruits a day and at least 1 veggie with each meal. Will eat south beach diet (the best way of eating I have seen to date.)

Money: will complete my emergency savings and will schedule meeting with financial advisor.

Career: Will find a new job and move by 4/2006.
 
I just found this thread and I want to join. I have to sit down and think about my plan/goals though.

I should be getting a digital camera for Christmas so my fotki will be updated then (Im really bad about developing pics)

I will cutting my hair to about neck length next week sometime so this is a perfect time to start

Healthy Natural hair... Not really focused on length goals right now. I'm jsut trying to get comfortable with it. Hoping to be shoulder length by the end of 2007 but I'm not gonna stress over it.

My Skin
Establish a skin care regimen. My skin is clear now even though I do nothing to my skin, go to sleep with makeup on :eek: etc. I need to take care of it so it stays clear.

Diet
Eat a more balanced diet. Stop eating out so much and cook more. (I'm doing good with this now)

My Teeth
They could be whiter. I'll work on brushing more.

My Body
I want to tone my tummy and back. My weight is pretty constant.

Finances
Establish a budget when I start my new job next month. Pay off my ccs by the end of 2007.

Education
Study for LSATS. Apply and get into law school.

Career
Strive to do the best at work. Try to be promoted by the end of 2007.

Spiritual
Make an honest effort to attend church on sundays. Maybe not every Sunday, but you have to start somewhere.

Relationships
Find more girlfriends I have things in common with. Continue to work on the relationship I'm building with the man I'm currently dating.

Okay, I'm in! I hope I don’t regret this (the Lord knows I need a kick in the pants :grin: ), but here goes:

Hair
Goal: Achieve BSL in the back (8 inches to go), APL for the sides (6 inches to go), and SL for the front (6 inches to go). Sorry, but that’s just the way my hair grows out! :lol:
Method: Keep doing what I’m doing.....only better!!!;)

Skin
Goal: Like buttah!!! :lol:
Method: I have such oily skin I have a hard time with chin acne so I will start using that Proactive I’ve been paying too much money for all these months and NOT using. I also have some chin hair I hate, so I will work on getting some kind of permanent removal like electrolysis or laser (haven’t decided yet). I may treat my self to a few facials to help things along.


Nails
Goal: I want strong and healthy fingernails (and toe nails, too!) without overlays
Method: I finally took my gel overlays off this past summer and discovered how weak my hails are when the nail technician drilled them down. The weak parts have almost grown out. So, I will keep up with my supplements and take better care of my nails naturally.

Body
Goal: Lose weight, and tighten up
Method: Ask my Fairly Godmother to wave her magic wand and turn my fat into a pumpkin! :lachen: j/k I will eat the way I know I should and keep up with my exercise routine. I also have a fitness goal to get my slouchy shoulders toned up, so I’ll be doing some strength training.


Health
Goal: Normal blood pressure
Method: (see “Body”) My blood pressure is borderline and I refuse to take medication, so I want to get that back down to normal.

Spiritual
Goal: Return to my regular church-going ways, and read the entire Bible. :D

Method: Recently, my church attendance has been way too sporadic lately (like every other week) or I’ll go in late. I intended not to miss a Sunday service and be on time for it, and if I absolutely need to miss due to some illness or school, I will attend Friday Night Service. I will also start going to Wednesday night Bible Studies at least once a month. Read a little of the Word each night (I have a one-year Bible study plan). ;)

Career

Goal: I just got my promotion finalized today :woot: and will be taking on a new career path in my company. I just want to do extremely well in my new position, and will not be late for work (unless there is an emergency, of course.)
Method: Wake up earlier (to do exercise and some homework), and arrive to work at least 15 minutes before I’m supposed to be there. I will also work at least three days a week like I’m going on vacation.


Finances
Goal: to be as debt free as possible so when I finish grad school in 2008 all I’ll have to pay are student loans.
Method: I want to take my increased earning and pay off my debt (car, school, etc.) I will also start matching my employer’s contribution to my 401K. Of the net income, I will maintain my savings account so I have at least 3-months' salary saved. :)

Education
Goal: I want to do excellently well in my MFA program.
Method: I will no longer procrastinate on my assignments, and will give them 110% !!!! I will work at least 1 hour each day on my school work, and more so on weekends.

Id like to join this challenge...

Hair: Id like to be 100% natural, id also like to be full SHOULDER LENGTH by December 2007 *aiming for 13inches*

Education: stay on that grind grade wise...Deans list
highly active on campus
Start preparing for LSAT's and law school applic cycle


Body: Id like to lose 10-15lbs and lose 3-4 inches in my waist
take better care of my nails

Relationships: work on the ones I do have, while beginning new ones. Maybe even giving a certain somebody a chance and not always doubting.
